In regards to the whole RHEL thing and w/

Always assume that the last code release is the last thing you will ever get. You should evaluate the relationship you have w/ a project and who/what is backing a project to guess its potential future (e.g., volunteers and their attitudes, non-profit and its governance structure, or a for-profit business and their motivations).
