Didn’t expect much from #Hurricane #Beryl, a Cat 1 coming in south of us on the #Texas coast, looked to be a glancing blow, some rain & a bit of wind. But no, a direct hit on the #Houston metro area. We’re on the far north side - winds were enough to snap this pine #tree which came down right between us & our neighbors (the nuns), main trunk fell on their side. We were in the kitchen just a few feet away. Beat a hasty retreat to the front of the house afterward. No power now but otherwise ok.
