I’m playing with a picture I took with the iPhone 12 mini a few nights ago. A surprising number of stars appeared in the pic, despite the light pollution. Even more interesting is that I can bring out even more by messing with the colour balance. Right before the frame fills with noise, stars down to 9th magnitude are visible. Also (and understandably), you get different dim stars appearing depending on whether you are cranking up the blue or the red. Tricky picking them out from the noise, but Stellarium helps there.
Fun that you can get results like this with an “old” camera just sitting on top of the car, pointing up.
That bright star is γ Cygni, by the way. North is to the right and about 30° up.
