some information that maybe of use, here in the UK not everyone can or has access to their medical records it is held by the GP and shared within the medical practice. there was a GP who created an app that gave patients full access to their medical records so they could see what was in it and share it with whoever they wanted.
I believed this was a good thing and helped promote it, However the NHS and GP surgeries were not keen to implement it. the GP implemented it at his surgery with his patients with positive outcomes but still it wasn't taken up and promoted to people.
why this is significant and important well it is information about an individuals personal health that they don't get to see, Its like someone having keys to your home and only allowing you to enter different parts of your home as they see fit. The most sacred thing is our own bodies yet the information is not acceptable.... you can request to see you medical records and go through a process to get them but they are not obliged to share everything about you to you.
amongst the many benefits to having access to your medical records here's just one.
if you are taken into hospital due to an emergency the emergency department have to request and get access to your medical records which takes vital time away from treatment there are statistics of people who die due to not receiving emergency treatment earlier due were talking even minutes that make the difference between life and death. Where's if the patients have there medical records on the phone app they can share the medical history straight away with the emergency staff.....etc and of course having power over your own information has many more benefits.... which the medical industry doesn't want you to have.
hope this is helpful info ..
