Every time I see "but it should be up to parents" I die a little inside.
"It should be up to parents..." when it comes to what kids should/shouldn't be taught/exposed presupposes parents are all equally good and care for their children in a way that is selfless and outside of their own biases.
Queerlings need societal and structured support outside their homes even when those homes *are* accepting and welcoming.
But they absolutely have to have it when their parents won't give it.
