Prevaricate has to be one of my favorite words. It means to evade the truth. Not quite lying, but not providing the truth.
It comes from the latin "varus" which means "bowlegged," and eventually became "praevaricat" which means to "walk crookedly, deviated."
Prevaricate literally means to straddle the truth, to walk crookedly about it.
Which is amazing. I love a #word with a good story behind it.
