Wanted to post my thoughts on Whitney Webb, hopefully others out there feel the same.
For all of us our thoughts and opinions become shaped by our experiences, I don’t personally know Whitney’s experiences, but I do feel the black pill doomer nihilism approach is not for me.
I believe Whitney lives in a box, that box for her is that governments and powerful people can control everything. I think she fails to draw a line of where those powers end and the events of human history that force change. She has a hard time grasping the concept of emergent phenomena, maybe in Whitney’s mind the government can stop black holes from happening.
Bitcoin is one of these emergent phenomena’s and I respect the position she comes from, but I also contend that every time humans have been caged they find ways to free themselves, because it’s not in our nature to be caged. If Whitney believes this is all captured, I ask her to propose a rational solution otherwise it comes off as nihilism. The solution of everything needs to grow food and live off the grid is not good enough for 8 billion people. This isn’t the dark ages, we have complex modern technologies that make life way more bearable than it has ever been.
My final message to Whitney is as bad as you feel the world is today, relative to past this is the best time to have ever lived in human history and one-hundred years from now they will scoff at us like we do the 1800s. I hope she can come out of this box of nihilism and into some hope somewhere. Yes Bitcoiners are hope peddlers. A person needs hope to build something better.
