A Babylock Joy. I picked it out. I’m horribly excited. It’s the first one I’ve ever picked out for my self. It’s not crazy fancy, but it’s a hell of an upgrade from my broken basic 30 year old brother which is so temperamental I’ve been afraid of using it to teach my daughters.
I do have a couple other vintage machines that all need work or to be sold to someone who loves vintage (inherited and nostalgic). My mother made a lot of our clothes and was a quilter. My sister has her quilting machine, but I got our grandmother’s machine from the 60s (which is what we learned on). It’s not functional and lost in boxes. I also have my paternal grandmother’s Necchi, but it has rotten wiring. I had a quote for $500 to service it and replace the wiring 10 years ago, so I’m afraid of what it’ll be now.
tl:dr I like to sew and hoard things
