Now *exactly* the same nonsense is coming from the right and apparently it's either a mass movement or a grave threat or whatever.
These petitions were and are bullshit and will continue to be bullshit. The competing pro-/anti-brexit ones are every bit as stupid.
It's as tiresome as it is meaningless. The petition system could be (and occasionally has been) used to draw Parliamentary attention to a serious but overlooked issue. Instead, it's a toy for overgrown children to play with and pretend that they're important and powerful.
