i.e. the website had decided to produce material that was free for me to read, and the deal was I had to glance at their ads.
Like if I respect the creator enough to absorb their stuff, then I suppose I have to respect their financial model.
That said, web ads are so obnoxious these days, I have to on principle avoid the website.
