The phrase "there is no right way to get a girl to like you" actually fucks me up, because I've internalized it as "there is nothing you can do to get a girl to like you", it just happens without you having a say on it.
I know it's meant to make you want to give her reasons to like you, and if it works, it works, but my pessimism wins over me as I'm reminded it's not in my hands at the end of the day. I'm not confident enough to put myself on the test because I fear I'll lose no matter what. Like, everyone else can just get there by default, but I don't think I can make it, and all the bridges are illusory. You're either picked up or not, and so far, things are looking bad.
