In 1960, the proportion of British voters who were likely to switch their votes between general elections was around 13%.

Now research (from Oxford & Manchester universities) suggests, its closer to 60%.

So voters have become less loyal to parties & more interested in (on the upside) political 'performance', or (on the downside) persuasive political marketing.

In either case, this look like a key reason for the Tories past gains from Labour & now their likely rapid losses.
