I’m finally posting my #birding photos from last week on Flickr and SmugMug, and marveling again at the dear tiny feet on this belted kingfisher. They perch a lot, but their feet are so small in proportion to their bodies! (I assume because they don’t use them in hunting and feeding, and perhaps the reduction has aerodynamic benefits.)
Look how cute the claws are! I can’t get over it. 😍
