Ruby-Throated Majesty
This picture of a ruby-throated hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is a bit better than the one that I posted yesterday. This is a little male who is about to land atop a black metal shepherd's hook that is holding an unseen hummingbird feeder. It is from that perch he will attempt to guard, what he considers his realm, against the encroachment of other hummingbirds. This photo gives a pretty good look at his tiny black legs and feet.
