Over xmas we visited relatives (where our metal backups are located). So I decided to test recovering the seeds from the backup - on one device the recovery test did NOT work. I'm really happy I checked as I still had access to the actual device so I could move funds off the device - which I did within 24 hours

So even though my funds were safe I decided to continue as if I had not been able to do so - in short I setup a "btcrevover" environment (https://github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover/) and after about 20 mins I was able to identify the error in the seed words

I encourage you all to a) test your backups and maybe b) check out btcrecover - it may come in handy some day
