An estimated up to 2 million people attended the pro Palestinian rally at the Merdeka Square in central Jakarta this morning.
Former VP Jusuf Kalla, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Speaker of the National Assembly Puan Maharani, other government executives, members of the parliament, and other public figures were also in attendance demanding an end to the conflict and a free Palestine.
The rally lasted 4.5 hours from 5:30am to 10:00am, taking advantage of the Car Free Day period that takes place every Sunday morning in certain areas of Jakarta.
