You're obviously right about the racism at the core of the global economy, but I think there's a reasonable argument to be made that, in a book about the structure of capital, you look where the capital is, namely in the global North, owned and controlled by its mostly white/male ruling class. Obviously this is a result of colonialism and imperialism, and granted, Piketty kind of ignores that. If you're studying where the money is, you're gonna end up looking at a bunch of white guys…
