I actually think this is a good thing by the the Bambino Plus.
The two biggest early killers for espresso machines:
- not using filtered water (which reduces scale build up; scale eats away at all the gaskets and connections)
- not REGULARLY backflushing and cleaning the machine.
IMO, both of these are user-errors.
That said, and I hesitate to mention this, there is a way to bypass that warning. I won't publish the how, but a google search will turn it up.
