You will be up against Russians who are genuinely trying to murder you in cold blood simply because you are on Ukrainian territory that they want for themselves. I personally wouldn't visit Kherson without a really good reason: too high of a chance of getting murdered by a grenade dropped from a Russian drone.
I could easily get you a talk at the Kyiv Bitcoin meetup this month, or next month. Of course, you'll be in a city with little power or heat in the middle of winter because Russians are trying to kill the entire population by literally freezing them to death. Other than the nuclear power plants, the supermajority of power plants in Ukraine have been damaged or destroyed by Russia. It's only heroic efforts by Ukrainians that Ukraine is even livable at all.
You don't need to have empathy for Russians. They're just evil. They know exactly what they're doing and why. Killing those psychopaths as quickly and efficiently as possible, in as large numbers as possible, makes the world a better place.
