it’s kind of wild *how* competent those bits of ukgov are compared to the rest of the world. Renewing a Swedish passport essentially involves an appointment in person at the police station or embassy to be interviewed about why you think you should still be entitled to one, and then having to go back to get your passport later (or having it forwarded to the nearest police station/embassy if you had to go some backwater to even find an appt to begin with).
