š So sad that I have not seen any more blue banded bees since the last sighting. I have seen 2 this Summer, but no others. š
š” I picked a dozen broad beans yesterday. This is remarkable. Firstly that the broad bean plants have survived so long. I use the BB plants for greens once they stop setting beans in early Dec. The leaves are delicious in salads. So I have had no beans since early Dec.
š” But yesterday, fussing around the beds, I saw one pod, than another. I looked through all the plants and found a dozen pods. Smaller than in peak season, but, still, broad beans! How??? Why??
šæ The flat leaf chives (not garlic chives) are beginning to flower!!! Why?? It is very early for flowers. What do they know about the coming weather that we don't??
š Strawbs are fruiting really well.
š Quinces are putting on weight.
š¦ Loved finding the Southern Moon Moth yesterday. It is uncommon to see them as they usually hide away.
š As reported I think I saw a mouse yesterday. I am hoping the Next Door Cats From Hell are on the job today. They are at my place 90% of the day and night, but of course not a cat to be seen when mousey was around.
