They will go out of their way to try sabotaging other instances, almost like it's some recreational, fun activity. It's quite malicious. I've gone out of my way to try blocking most of these bad actors through firewall IP denials in/out. I'm still amassing more for the list, and considering just blocking entire ranges of CloudFlare IPs since many of these instances sit behind their CDN. Also had to make my account accept followers manually vs. just openly accepting follows. Essentially, doing everything I can to try staying away from that side of the Fediverse and not exist to them whatsoever.
