I've eaten amazing food on Cunard cruise ships.
I've eaten awful leftovers at midnight on warships.
I've eaten at scores of wedding receptions and corporate dinners.
In short, I've seen more than my share of buffets.
The 2024 presidential election looks like a choice between turnips and beets. Both vegetables have their champions, but both are overall unpopular. You have to pick one, and you can't stop at McDonalds on the way home.
I'm not mad at the vegetables (although both look past their "best by" date).
I'm not mad at the farmers. I'm not mad at the cooks.
But I'm pissed at the people who planned this menu and bought the vegetables and hired the cooks and bought the shitty advertising that says, "Beets are awful!! Go Team Turnip!" and "Those Turnips are rotten! Beets All The Way!"
Fuck the Turnips. Fuck the Beets. #EatTheRich
