Heading into the weekend, I thought I would share a creation of mine that I've been working on for a while.
This is whisky using 100% malt that I made myself using feed barley from my local ag supply store.
The process is unique, in that it is run through a pot still only once, with the first "stripping" run used in traditional distilling, replaced with freeze concentration in an effort to retain and enhance the malt characteristics.
The final product has been aged on oak that I cut and toasted myself.
I once made a smoke box that I uses to burn peat, and bubble the smoke through single malt distillate to make a scotch style whiskey. I'm tempted to dig it out and use it on half this batch.
