I just found out you can create an RSS feed for your or other users posts with this url structure:
https://mastodon.social/@DrPen.rss. This means its easy to add a widget style preview of posts to a webpage, for example, or add feeds to your RSS reader of choice. I use Android's Feeder app and Feedly.
