Rafe Langston on Nostr: Bhaurb (Human Barbarian) Left-Handed Hummingbird (aka "Bird," Tabaxi Rogue) Miala ...
Bhaurb (Human Barbarian)
Left-Handed Hummingbird (aka "Bird," Tabaxi Rogue)
Miala (Drow Fighter)
Skolis (Yuan-Ti Paladin)
Wylston (Firbolg Cleric)
Last night, the party decided to send word of the dragon to the dwarves excavating nearby ruins which had been recently discovered. Joined again by Skolis, they set out, heading southwest of Phandalin.
Arriving late that afternoon, Wylston and Skolis noticed extra tracks following the dwarven footprints but the party lost the trail after they split off and up a lower section of canyon wall.
With the dwarves refusing to leave, despite Skolis's warning that there were echoes of evil energy in the ruins, the party agreed to help clear out the oozes within the temple so the dwarves could at least continue their work out of sight of any dragons flying overhead.
The oozes were dispatched easily enough and the party was able to even ascertain that the temple had been a place to worship and make sacrifices to the ancient dwarven god of greed.
On the way out, Bird spotted something suspicious: the faintest of green light from behind some rubble. Deciding to investigate, the party spent a few hours digging a path and discovered one last room with a statue holding a large green gem.
Unable to help herself, Bird grabbed the gem which immediately crumbled to dust in her paws, just before the statue exploded.
Hurt, but still alive, and having a new wariness about shiny things and a lesson in greed, they then made their way back out of the temple only to find a band of orcs descending upon the dwarves....
