this is a great summary. I hear so often “I don’t care if I die” but as you said you try and bring up the possibility of disability and it does NOT go well. They act so brave in the face of death but they’re not considering all the other possibilities(and they probably don’t think they will die either - exception-itis is a real problem these days))
