Oracle is involved in a legal dispute with Deno Land over the trademark of the programming language JavaScript. Deno Land, led by Node.js creator Ryan Dahl, argues that JavaScript has become a generic term and that Oracle committed fraud when renewing its trademark. Oracle denies these claims and argues that it uses the term in connection with its JavaScript Extension Toolkit and other offerings. The fraud claim stems from Oracle's submission of specimens from the Node.js website and its own toolkit as evidence. Oracle has requested an additional 30 days to respond to the other two claims.
