mnml mnl (he/him) (npub1s7k…tr0a) Beyond the sentience there are people pitching that it can replace programmers entirely because you can type in "build me an app that does X" and "it just does it." Of course it can't but there is a reaction to a lot of that noise. As you said, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater on it though. I'm beginning my experimentation with self-hostable versions of things. I just don't want to feed the data lakes at Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc. Yes I know the static ones are generated from similar datasets. Perfect is the enemy of good enough.
