Who can help NomishkaDilshan (nprofile…sk2u) samalka (nprofile…nk5q) ? Great friends that I met during my travels in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago. They are happy to learn and contribute. Nomishka invited me to his city without asking anything in return and even gave food to street dogs while they had barely food for themselves. They need help urgently with their roof #asknostr

Hello Nostr friends 👋,

I live in Sri Lanka, a country that has faced significant challenges in recent years, including hyperinflation, a government collapse, high living costs, and economic struggles. Despite these hardships, I have been committed to studying Bitcoin and even worked to orange-pill local merchants so I could live more easily using Bitcoin without conversion costs. Unfortunately, I haven’t yet been able to convince any merchants to adopt Bitcoin, despite giving it my best effort.

I live in a home that’s over 100 years old, but sadly, the roof is severely damaged and leaks whenever it rains. The situation is becoming critical—I fear the roof might collapse soon if it’s not repaired.

The repair cost is USD 2016 (2.7M sats). I previously earned a low salary that barely covered my basic needs. Now, being jobless, I cannot afford to fix the roof on my own.

This house is more than a shelter; it’s a part of my family’s legacy. Besides that, it’s also the home of my computer—a gift generously sponsored by a couple of kind people. That computer brought me the opportunity to study web development and work on Nostr. Losing my home risks destroying not only the legacy but also the gift that changed my life.

I previously repaired the roof using my Bitcoin savings and with the help of friends, but the funds were only enough for temporary fixes. The damage has since worsened, and I now need a permanent solution.

I’m humbly asking for help from this amazing community. Support doesn’t only have to be financial. If you can provide suggestions, a job opportunity, or other ways to help me get back on my feet, it would mean the world to me.
