Sad to see the MATE project nearly dead. There's a single git change 4 months ago, and then it goes back more months. I don't think there's a future there. That void will be filled by #XFce, that still has about 8 active maintainers.

Another project that worries me is #KDEnLive. It's essentially down to 1 maintainer. The guy had a lapse a few years ago too, where he vanished (he was missing!) because he had enough of it. It could happen again.
