When I was a Professor I wore a suit everyday (yes, I was unusual in my sartorial choices as an academic, but there you go) & was paid well enough to buy myself three new suits a year (as well as shirts & ties).... Politicians are paid more than Professors, and in the PM's case much more than Professors, so what the hell does he need to be accepting gifts of clothes for?
Its this sort of low level insidious corruption (there's no such thing as a 'free suit') that really bugs me/us
