It is an interesting solution. It acknowledges that its computationally heavy, but also keeps images from being seen by users on the other hand. Mixing it with domain reporting would reduce that computational cost.
The extreme case of domain reporting and blacklisting is that 99% of images that are automatically shown are from domains that have nostr users, because they want their users to be happy. That's what i care the most about - i need to trust that nostr media providers are keeping their service safe, otherwise what's the point in using a media provider?
Also, any domain with a known bad reputation probably wouldn't need images graded, because they're already blocked, so it reduced the computational cost.
