Not sure if you saw the manifesto that one of the German newspapers posted? I only saved the Russian version, but they printed it in several languages. That's very much needed, but also very late — it's basically a manifesto of multiculturalism posted in 2023.
That very much summarizes partial failure of the existing multicultural policy in large EU countries like Germany or France — they believed people from Africa and Arab countries will kind of automatically integrate into Western system of values. That's to some extent reflection of the German "Wandel durch Handel" policy towards Russia — an assumption that the other party will rationally see your advantages and converge towards your policies on its own. Arrogant, naive and not working.
In reality this kind of passive attitude — just let them be with *their* system of values and wait until they acquire ours — is not multiculturalism.
It's the opposite of #multiculturalism, because you physically can't have multiple cultures coexist peacefully if one of them is radical Russian or Soviet imperialism or 14th century radical Christianity or radical Islamism or radical Zionism.
By the very nature of these expansive radical movements they will deny other cultures, including your culture of multiculturality, and naturally will try to conquer them, creating endless fighting.
That's the important bit that was unfortunately missed by all the left-wing philosophers who argued all cultures are equal and all should be equally acceptable. And that's precisely what created le Pen, Trump and AfD.
