#writerscoffeeclub 21. If you write adult fiction, would you consider children's stories and vice versa? Do you write both? How's it going?
Well, I'm writing this 5.5 hrs before it is 10/21 here in middle North America. But I'll be on the road for 12 hrs tomorrow.
First, I write already under 2 names. No secret, really. My classic/cyberpunk/AI/space opera science fiction is under John J. Sanders and my cooperative writing, Jules Verne, meets Firefly sci-fi is, under John Sandwolf. Now, none of my fiction is children's literature. I did take a brief swing at it, and well... I just couldn't keep up the pretense to keep it "innocent".
Nearly all my stories contain some level of "intimate" contact. So, I guess that makes everything I write at least PG13, most likely R for most of it and on occasion NC17. I have yet to publish anything that would be considered X or XX. Though I have 2 shorts i wrote in the last 3 years. Just some fun little explorations.
So, would I write children's book? No.
