That's awful. I have one in Texas but it's plenty warm here. I only bought it because of the huge tax credit and gas savings make it cheaper than similar class ice vehicles. I still keep a ice car too. It's fine in the warm areas but it does get reduced mileage in extreme heat. Generally speaking if you charge it at home every-night it's not a huge problem. Even if you got half range most people don't drive more than 150 miles a day. If you don't have a home charger you absolutely should not buy a EV. They only make sense if you commute, electricity is cheaper than gas and you can charge at home.
