And I think what makes the Automattic deals so shady is that they very obviously _know_ that it is. They hide behind "opt-out" and crap but if they were trying to be more respectful they could easily have deloyed an "opt-in" button months ago, be in a conversation with their users _before_ giving everything to Microsoft/OpenAI and the BoringImageVomiter2000. Heck they could have set up a revenue sharing thing if they wanted to convince people.
But they didn't.
