While it relates to moving away from gold standard and world being gradually introduced to fiat currencies, I'd say the other signs of it can be:
- complicated taxes
- inflated, stronger governments
- amount of bureaucracy
How these things looks like in specific country and how it affects every citizen, can be indication of that phenomenon: WWI continuing to play out.
Is it possible to stop paying taxes in your country? Probably not - it's regime but softened.
