Went to see #Gladiator II at the cinema last night and came away disappointed.
It lost me when the CGI sharks appeared in the sea battle scenes in the Coliseum.
It looks spectacular but the story is too similar to the original, Paul Mescal is just OK as Lucius but Denzel Washington seemed out of place as the flamboyant, sinister Macrinus.
When we got home the original was on TV so we rewatched it for the umpteenth time and it stands head and shoulders above part two in every respect.
