I knew anime was dead when I was like 8 and my sister was watching soul eater and it had splices of 3d rendering that looked horrible. I had only seen 100% hand drawn work before that. I knew immediately that it was cheaper and that nothing made after that point would ever have the same quality as the stuff before it.
