Is there a name for this thing?

Like, there's this thing where when someone that's treated as inherently problematic is having an argument with someone, they will be accused of some minor infraction or failing, that may or may not be valid, but is at best tangentially related to the argument.

This callout then serves as a trap where the "problematic" person's character is undermined regardless of how they respond. If they do not apologise, it is added to the list of how they are problematic. If they do take responsibility, they will not be forgiven, and they can no longer deny that they are a person who does problematic things and calls into question whether they should be tolerated at all.

I would really like to find a name to quickly describe this. Preferably one that isn't identity-specific.

This is something that transmisogyny exempt people do to trans women all the time, but I've also heard about and personally witnessed it happening to black women and femmes on many occasions, and I'd really like to be able to name the behaviour without having to explain the dynamics involved every time.
