So there's this weird thing I've seen/heard people doing a lot lately, and I find it troubling. They won't give you someone's email to contact them unless that person says it's OK first.

I don't mean to strangers or telemarketers or police, or something like that, I mean a person you know, who knows you, won't give you the email address of a third person who also knows you both, unless they contact them and ask if its OK first...
