I do think there will aways be users rushing to a feature that is built on a network like Facebook, if users can extract attention and traffic they will flow into it, but a question will be will there be enough for Facebook to see it as a worthwhile service.

Decentralised social media has a way to go because public private key management is not something normies have grapsed yet so the onboarding is still a big hurdle as well as if there enough traffic and eye balls worth chasing
