A bitcoin reserve, much like a full gold reserve would absolutely be better for certain aspects of the government than their insane fiat ponzi.
Had they done it with tax money, or tariffs, or hell, even the funds we stolen from Putin that would be better than doing it from the backs of their own citizens illegally.
The problem is that is will continue to appreciate in dollar terms, and when this guy is gone, someone will likely sell it, or raid it, or give it to Social Security, or something else. They won't stop printing money and selling bonds. Not even if they had 50T in bitcoin sitting there.
The US Constitution in no way allows for the government to steal your property permanently that may have been in some way used for a crime. To cheer it on is absolutely bonkers.
I have been fighting at the local and state level for a decade against allowing police to steal from its citizens and then fund their operations, new tanks, guns, etc..
Finally, 2 years ago we were able to severely limit the types and ways a CAF can happen here. While nowhere near as restrictive as it should be, its a start.
I believe the USG now has the best incentive of all times to steal more, all while claiming 'public safety', 'terroism', and on and on. Its like a wet dream for the patriot act bros.
