I always look for natural solutions. First, I would suggest you really look into the research behind stretching. It is not actually beneficial and potentially harmful. So is the stretching make it worse? If so, consider stopping the stretching and see how much that helps. Then begin strengthening your back in a safe way. I love using the lumbar extension machine. This shouldn’t be very dangerous because it’s just body weight and most gyms have one. The other thing I would recommend is taking pressure off your lower back. When you sleep, put a pillow under your knees if you sleep on your back and a pillow between your knees if you sleep on your side. This relieves the pressure on your lower back and has helped me with my back pain. Don’t sleep on your stomach. Also consider using a firm mattress or sleeping on the floor. A lot of people get rid of their back pain by sleeping on the floor. I’m not a doctor these are just my speculative thoughts based on the research I’ve done. Be very cautious with the exercises you try and don’t over exert yourself too soon. Good luck!
