Computer software might have gotten way worse over the last decade or so but at least the hardware's stopped getting better.
Remember in the 90's and 00's when you'd spend like a grand on a computer and it was obsolete like two years* after you bought it? I keep forgetting how it's SO NICE to not have to do that anymore. My last laptop ran for twelve years. My previous desktop ran on the same GPU and CPU for fourteen years before I replaced it, and I didn't even HAVE to, it still ran all my programs just fine, I never had to wait for anything, but there was one for $50 at Goodwill that did the same work but drew half the current, and it was a hot day so I snagged it up. Back in the 90's that $50 computer would've been worthless e-waste, now I run my business from it and it's fine, it boots exactly as fast as a brand new computer and this is a world of raccoon tech I can get behind
* yes Amiga 500 people, we know, put your hand down
