Companies do not care about protests, but they do care about their bottom line. If you make the pain heard through all available channels, and it impacts things like their recruiting pipeline, the concerns will elevate up to the executives.
Whether they actually do anything about it doesn't matter much. They need to feel a fraction of the pain they're inflicting on us with this policy change.
