Thank you. That is really heartening to hear that your beautiful birds and other animals came back fairly quickly despite the damage of the gold mining industry.

We have parks and swimming pools, but the area isn't great for kids walking or biking alone, due to lack of sidewalks and some unleashed dogs. I believe the ones I knew about have been taken care of, but it's an area where pitbulls are popular, and I worry. So, it's adults escorting kids, usually by car. There are some really nice places (parks, especially), though, if you count the driveable area as part of the community.
