Use of DNA as a suspect population narrowing technique for crimes sufficiently serious to resource expensive investigations years later, isn't a threat to the liberty of those with similar facial features but non matching DNA, unless they're the identical twin of the crime scene DNA found providing the basis for the search. Reliance in the past on identity parades has put many innocent people in jail based on other circumstantial and coincidental evidence.
