I've not found all that many with old ICAOs.
I use a mashup of ADSBExchange, airframesio, airplanes.live and mitronics. That gets me pretty close (I'd like to think so).
Have you looked at my HFDL page and your incoming data to see if the two are sort of close?
Long story long, HFDL is in very heavy use. Its not going away any time soon. Not seen any drop since there is no ADSB offshore.
